FREE SHOW with Bombadil and Hello Emerson in the Bootlegger!

Bombadil is a long-running folk-pop band from Durham, NC. The band has made fans at NPR, Rolling Stone and the New York Times, who called them “astonishing.” Time Out New York said their music is “bursting with irresistible melodies, unexpected lyrical gems, and moments of profound honesty, all anchored by expert songwriting skills.”

Hello Emerson:

“Idiosyncratic folk and bluegrass songs, sometimes as a rampant stream-of-consciousness text flood, sometimes in the form of a short story… Conor Oberst and John Darnielle (The Mountain Goats) say hello.”
– ROLLING STONE GERMANY

“Rarely have debut of the current singer-songwriter generation such a sense of catchy songs, original instrumentations, and imaginative texts.”
– MDR KULTUR

Hi hello – my name is Samuel Emerson Bodary. I write songs at home in Columbus, Ohio when I can free myself from an endlessly spooling playlist of podcasts. I record these songs with friends and bandmates.

We’re independent in the US, but we signed to K&F Records for our work in Europe. They’re a charming, earnest, and honest singer-songwriter label based in Dresden, Germany. They’re great partners and greater pals.

Sometimes, people write nice things about our songs. I included those above. But really, this band is mostly an elaborate front so I can single-handedly bring back blogging. Please check out our songbook, blog, unreleased songs, and much more at www.helloemerson.com.

“Sam Bodary is just 23, but Hello Emerson sounds like the sublime intersection of the best American indie folk bands.”
– GLITTERHOUSE

“Though the pristinely recorded, fingerpicked folk songs are now filled out with piano, pedal steel, percussion, string sections and horn sections, Bodary is still focused on the little things, no matter how big the song arrangements have become.”
– COLUMBUS ALIVE
